In September of 2022 I traveled to North Carolina to teach my first out of town, in person workshop since March of 2020. The idea of getting on a plane, traveling to a new place, being in person with folks to sing after so long stirred up so many feelings and fears. I needed a song to get me through and 'I Am Safe' carried me all the way to the beautiful gathering and back. I hope this song brings some peace to those who need it.

I have led each of these songs in community spaces and when I sing them I can see the faces and hear the voices of each group that has sung them with me.
